Important Notes:
1. This program is intended only to reverse journal entries that have been entered through the Regular Journal Entry program, as the reversal will only affect the General Ledger and will not update any sub ledgers, such as tenant receivables or supplier payables.
2. When you are searching for a batch you will see that everything that has been posted to the General Ledger will appear in the drop down list. This includes tenant cash receipts and charges, journal entries from supplier invoices and checks, begin month charges, etc.
3. Reversing these batches of journal entries will not reverse the entries to the sub ledgers. Use of the Reverse a Journal Entry for these types of batches will result in the sub ledgers being out of balance to the General Ledger control accounts.
4. Only reverse these types of journal entries on the advice of Spectra Support Staff.

Beginning and Ending Posting Dates
Enter a range of dates that will include the posting date of the batch of journal entries you wish to reverse.
Select Batch # to Reverse
Select the batch number to be reversed from the dropdown box. Click on OK.
When the batch appears on the screen, click on the Reverse button.

Reverse
The system will automatically select today’s date as the Posting Date for the reversal. Change this if required and then click on OK to continue or Cancel to cancel the reversal.

When the reversal is completed, an onscreen message will appear. Click on OK to return to the reversal screen. Close the window to return to the menu.
Important Reminder:
There are valid times to use this procedure, but it is also the #1 reason why sub ledgers do not balance with their G/L control accounts. Our Support Department is available to answer any questions you may have about the use of the Reverse a Journal Entry procedure.
